Safeguarding information

Our school takes Safeguarding (Child Protection) very seriously indeed. All of our staff have regular safeguarding training and at least one member of staff undertakes the full designated person training and refresher course. At our school the designated person is Mr Clack (head teacher). At least one governor has the responsibility for safeguarding at our school. Our safeguarding policy (based on the LCC model policy) is available to view on request. We link this policy closely to our Pastoral Care Policy, our Confidentiality Policy and our Whistleblowing Policy. All of these policies are well known to our staff and communicated to visitors and students during their time in our school. No member of staff or volunteer worker here in school can be in our school without first having a DBS certificate to ensure we know that they are safe to be working in a school environment. Mr Clack and two governors are fully trained in Safer Recruitment and have passed the necessary training to be able to sit as part of an interview panel when jobs are advertised at this school. We have an e-safety policy in place that incorporates our staff and pupils acceptable use of the internet forms. This policy links very closely to our safeguarding policy and a copy can be viewed on request. All pupils, parents and staff are asked to read and sign the relevant forms so that are allowed to access the IT equipment and internet in school. Regular learning sessions on e-safety are taught in school and advise is sought from a range of experts. Staff are trained on how to handle e-safety and to help our pupils have an increased awareness of the digital world they live in.

If you would like to know more about safeguarding at our school please get in touch with Mr Clack.
