EYFS, Year 1 & Year 2
Welcome to our class page! This term, children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 will be taking part in a wide range of fun and meaningful learning experiences. Our curriculum is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help children develop important skills across all subjects. Below is an overview of what we’ll be learning.

This term, EYFS are diving into exciting learning adventures through our term’s topic:
Welcome to our Spring Term 2 class page! This half term our learning is packed with exciting topics, hands-on activities and creative challenges. We can’t wait to share what we’ll be discovering together.
Our EYFS children will be exploring the exciting theme of Superheroes. Through stories, role play, creative activities and problem-solving challenges, we will:

Develop storytelling and imaginative play.
Explore what makes a real-life hero.
Build teamwork and resilience.
Strengthen early reading, writing and number skills.
We’ll be discovering that heroes don’t always wear capes — they can be kind friends, helpful family members and brave community helpers too!
Key Stage 1 children will be:
In English we will be reading and exploring the wonderful story Beegu. Through the text children will:

Develop comprehension skills
Write descriptions and short narratives
Explore character feelings and settings
Build vocabulary and sentence structure
In Maths this half term we will focus on:

Division – sharing and grouping
Fractions – understanding halves and quarters
Shape – identifying, describing and comparing 2D and 3D shapes
Children will use practical resources and problem-solving activities to deepen their understanding.
In Science we will investigate the Secret World of Plants, focusing on:

The different parts of plants
What plants need to grow
Observing changes over time
Conducting simple experiments
Our young scientists will be observing, predicting and recording their findings.
This term for Geography children will explore ‘At the Farm’ focusing on:

Features of a farm
Farm animals and crops
The importance of farming
Differences between rural and urban environments
In RE, we will learn about:

Islamic beliefs about caring for others
Kindness, responsibility and community
How faith guides people’s actions
In Design and Technology the children will be learning about mechanisms:

Explore simple mechanisms such as sliders and levers
Design and create their own moving products
Develop cutting, joining and evaluation skills
In Music we will learn and perform the song Round and Round

Explore rhythm and pulse, Use percussion instruments and develop listening and performance skills

In PSHE we will be looking at ‘Healthy Me’. Our focus will be on:
Healthy eating, exercise and keeping active, looking after our bodies and making healthy choices.

Homework is given out on Tuesday
Homework should be returned by Monday
