Equality Information and Objectives

Equality Statement

At Great Ponton CE Primary School, we are committed to creating a culture where every child feels valued, respected and able to flourish.

Our Christian vision, "I am Strong because WE are Strong," reminds us that individual success is achieved through collective support, belonging and inclusion. We believe that every member of our school community is strengthened when everyone is treated fairly, their uniqueness is celebrated and barriers to participation are removed.

Equality is not simply a legal duty; it is central to who we are as a school. Through our values of Courage, Curiosity, Compassion and Community, we seek to ensure that all pupils have the opportunity to achieve their full potential regardless of their background, ability, identity or circumstances.

Public Sector Equality Duty

In carrying out our functions, the school has due regard to the need to:

  • Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
  • Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.
  • Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.

The school regularly reviews its policies, procedures, curriculum and practices to ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010.
