Years 1 & 2
Welcome to KS1 Page.
We have a fun filled year planned ahead with lots of learning and activities taking place. Let’s hope and keep fingers crossed this will be a year which is more ‘normal’ (no lockdown or home schooling) for children, staff and parents.
In KS1 we will be continuing to work on a creative curriculum and basing our learning of fun, active and inspiring activities for the children. We will be working on our RWI phonics/spellings, English and Math’s during the mornings. In the afternoons we will be focusing on topic work and finding out lots!
So far this academic year we have had lots of fun:
Outdoor Science: Finding and sorting Leaves.
We had lots of fun creating our own Nature artwork.
- Woodland walk.
- We were finding out about minibeasts and where they live?
- Celebrating ‘Mental Health Awareness Day’. We raised money for ‘Young Minds’. Well done everyone a great effort.
- Taking part in ‘Say no to racism’. The children were fantastic and showed a great attitude towards this message.
- PE Days for this term will be on a Tuesday (Swimming) and Wednesday (Team Building and Invasion). Let’s keep active.
- Homework will be sent out weekly on a Tuesday, this will include Reading, Spellings, Times tables activities.
Keep an eye on the ‘Week Ahead’ Parent mails for key dates and information.
