Years 1 & 2
Welcome back. I hope you had a lovely Christmas holidays. Happy New Year!
Our topic this term is ‘Whatever the Weather’. Please see the attachment below to see what will be covering and learning this term.
Weekly Homework will be given out on a Friday - Homework will be Spellings, Math’s and Reading.
Spellings: These will include the graphemes that the children have been learning in their phonics for the week.
Math’s – This will be an activity to reinforce and consolidate the Math’s from the week’s lessons.
Reading – The children will have 2 reading books. One of them will be linked to the phonics graphemes they have been learning during that week. The other book will be from their colour banded books in the school reading scheme. We encourage the children to choose their own books to enhance their interests and develop their love for reading.
If you read your own reading books at home do not forget to record them down in your reading record too.
